World of Warcraft -- 1.10 patch released2009-09-24 00:00:00After weeks of public testing, Blizzard officially launched the much-awaited v1.10 content and upgrade patch Tuesday morning. Weighing in at 24MB, the patch can be installed using World of Warcraft's built-in patching system, or downloaded separately via Fileplanet and other download sites. As has happened with several major WoW updates in the past, it turned out to be a rough launch -- servers were completely down for most of the day, well past the usual weekly maintenance times, and server instability remained a problem well into the evening (and still remains so as of the writing of this article).
The patch brings a number of major changes to the world of Azeroth, including a highly anticipated revamp of the priest talent tree. With the patch, all priests have had their skills wiped clean and have been given the opportunity to reallocate all their talent points without having to pay the usual respec fee. On the graphical front, weather effects like rain and snow have been added, although the effects appear to be on the subtle side so far (which isn't necessarily a bad thing).
